Geniebubble: a custom WordPress build

Geniebubble was a brand new WordPress site, built through the agency Drew and Rose in 2022.

The brief

Drew and Rose brought me in to build a custom WordPress site for Geniebubble. It was a new site, not an existing one being reworked, so everything was built for this project.

Highlight: the rocket

I learned CSS animation during this project, and then put it straight to use on the homepage.

There’s a rocket on the Geniebubble homepage. When you hover over the Let’s go button, the rocket flies off the screen. It’s a small detail, but it gives the homepage a bit of personality.

It’s also a good example of how I like to work. If a project calls for something I haven’t done before, I learn it and ship it, rather than steering the brief towards what I already know.

The result

Geniebubble is still live on my build, rocket and all. Hover over Let’s go and see it for yourself.
